Instructions: Prepare Your Ingredients: Measure the coarsely ground coffee. A typical ratio is 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee per serving, but you can adjust this based on your taste preferences. Assemble the Phin Pot: Disassemble the Phin pot by removing the filter press from the chamber. Place the desired amount of coarsely ground coffee into the chamber. Use the adjustable filter press to compress the coffee grounds gently. The level of compression can affect the brewing time and strength of the coffee. Boil Water: Heat water to just below boiling, around 200°F (93°C). Add Hot Water: Pour a small amount of hot water into the Phin pot, allowing the coffee grounds to bloom. Wait for about 20-30 seconds to let the coffee absorb the water. Begin Brewing: After the initial bloom, fill the chamber with hot water to the top. Place the filter press on top of the coffee grounds and water, ensuring a snug fit. Enjoy the Drip: The water will slowly drip through the coffee grounds, extracting the flavors. The entire brewing process may take 4-5 minutes. Be patient – the slow drip is key to the unique taste of Vietnamese coffee.
