Our belief in Barong’s protection from evil spirits makes him a significant figure in the Shaman Company narrative. This mythological figure is considered the head of the benevolent spirits in Bali, and he fights Rangda, the evil queen and mother of the guardians of the spirit world, as his main antagonist. The war between Barong and Rangda is depicted in the Barong dance as a metaphor for the eternal battle between good and evil.
